Program Description

The purpose of the program is to provide students with knowledge of high-quality physics, mathematics and engineering. The program aims at training qualified specialists in the field of research and development of laser systems and devices for various purposes, development and application of laser technologies.  Practical part of the training is provided throughout the whole program and is performed on modern research, analytical and technological equipment, starting with laboratory work at junior courses and up to defending the final qualifying work performed in a scientific group led by world-known scientists.  Within the framework of the WorldSkills international program, students at the MEPhI Laser Center could undergo training in laser technology installations based on high-power fiber lasers and pass a professional exam.

  • development of lasers and their components; 
  • development and application of laser technologies based on high-power fiber lasers; 
  • studies of the interaction of laser radiation with matter; 
  • development of precision diagnostic and measuring laser systems for biophysics, medicine, environmental monitoring, control of fast processes, metrology; 
  • optical processing of information; 
  • radio-photonics and holography.
